Cristina Billingsley, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional at Sierra Center for Wellness, specializing in trauma and anxiety therapy. As Clinical Director, I focus on effective trauma treatment and mentoring therapists, utilizing compassionate, evidence-based practices to empower clients in their healing journeys and enhance mental wellness.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a dedicated wife and mother to two neurodivergent teenagers and two wonderfully neurotic dogs—both of whom hilariously failed puppy obedience class, not for lack of enthusiasm. With over 20 years of experience in therapy, I embarked on this journey because, as a child, I was the go-to person for my friends’ worries and concerns. I cherished their trust in me to assist them through various challenges, which ignited my passion for helping others.

I’ve worked in community mental health, as a school-based therapist, and in private practice. Like many of the individuals and families I work with, I understand how challenging it can be to balance relationships, work, and the emotional demands of everyday life—especially when stress, anxiety, or trauma are part of the picture. These personal and professional experiences shape my approach as a therapist: with patience, deep understanding, and genuine respect for the hard work you’ve already been putting in to improve how you feel.

Therapy: Safe Space to Heal and Reconnect

Expert Trauma and Anxiety Treatment for Adults and Teens

In our work together, you receive care that combines warmth and authenticity with advanced, evidence-based trauma therapies, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP is a structured, evidence-based approach for anxiety and OCD that helps you gradually face feared thoughts or situations while learning to respond without avoidance or compulsive behaviors. These specialized approaches address not only current symptoms, but also the deeper emotional and nervous system patterns shaped by trauma, anxiety, and OCD.

Therapy with me goes beyond surface-level coping. Our work focuses on safely and effectively processing emotional pain, reducing the impact of trauma, intrusive or obsessive thought patterns, chronic stress, and perfectionistic tendencies that keep you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Together, we work to break free from cycles that no longer support your well-being and replace them with healthier, more adaptive responses. Sessions are collaborative, structured, and intentionally paced so you feel supported, understood, and actively engaged in meaningful therapeutic change.

My commitment is to provide care that is both compassionate and clinically precise—grounded in neuroscience and proven trauma and anxiety protocols. Treatment is designed to promote long-term emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and sustained recovery rather than temporary symptom relief.

Trauma & PTSD patients seek therapy to heal safely from past experiences and regain stability.

Trauma & PTSD Therapy

You don’t have to carry past experiences alone. In a safe, supportive setting, trauma-informed therapy helps you restore emotional stability, strengthen regulation skills, and reduce the hold distressing memories have on your daily life. Together, we work to process these experiences at a pace that feels right for you so they no longer shape your present choices, relationships, or sense of self.

Person struggling with depression and anxiety

You don’t have to live under constant pressure, worry, panic, OCD-driven thoughts, or emotional exhaustion. Together, we’ll build practical tools, explore what’s driving chronic stress and perfectionistic patterns, and help you move toward greater balance, resilience, and confidence.
